R6.2.2
This release provides a fix to this problem:
Software will not install and run in Windows XP systems.
R6.2
This release provides fixes to these problems:
Export from Data Sheet with field containing "," is not read correctly by Excel.
Crash in Scatter Plot when date field is plotted on the X axis.
R6.1
The R6.1 version provides these changes:
User interface improvements:
Chart graphics are drawn by default with no shading to provide a simpler look that focuses more on the data. The previous shaded design may be restored using the "Tools" -> "Select Chart Colors ..." dialog, via the "Shade chart elements?" check box. This option affects the current project only.
Graphics elements in various charts have been tweaked to improve appearance.
The Selection State Legend that was previously available at the bottom of the Color Legend pane has been removed. Counts of selection state can be obtained using Counts charts instead.
Labels with measure values in bar and line charts.
Labels giving numeric values of bars (in bar charts) or lines (in line charts) are now available in these charts. These can be configured via the Property Explorer for the chart, or turned on or off via a button in the chart tool tray. Measure labels can be turned on or off. The label may be either the total for a category, the current selected value, or the total percentage. You can request rounded amounts rather than the full measure amount. The font may be specified.
Currency symbols can be specified by the author. Previously, the currency symbol used was that defined for the current computer (desktop or server). Now, the author can specify the currency symbol to use for a field as part of the data source specification used to load the data. A currency symbol can also be specified with a format specification when creating a new numeric field in the Expression Builder.
Cumulative measures in Line Chart and Summary Sheet. Cumulative measures provide a cumulative sum or count for a measure in the display. This is most typically used over time.
The previous bookmark capability in ADVIZOR has been removed and replaced by bookmarks defined in the Flight Recorder. Bookmarks were previously used to select the set of pages to be exported to output media as well; you can now instead specify which pages to include explicitly when exporting.
Localization improvements.
Titles in PDFs exported from ADVIZOR Analyst now correctly represent characters in mulitbyte languages.
Text exported from grid charts may be imported directly into Microsoft Excel in locales using UTF8 character sets.
Null or missing values now by default are represented by the string "-" rather than "". You can still specify any string that you wish to use to display missing values in the Project Workshop.
Notable defects repaired are:
Excluding when zoomed in on a Bar Chart caused data in the chart to disappear; it now shows the remaining data.
Charts on fields produced by Prediction in Analystics were not updated if the model was changed; they now update.
Some data configuration dialogs did not accomadate very long field names; they now do.
When publishing to ADVIZOR Server, all pages were published even if the author specified that only a subset should be included. Only the requested subset is now published.
Improvements to reduce memory usage and improve performance of Data Sheets and Summary Sheets have been made.
An error could occur where a new session on ADVIZOR Server failed with the message "No tables after loading session." This no longer occurs.
The latest version of the Analyst Server AE web client might not be downloaded after the Server is updated to the latest version.
All projects must be be re-published to ADVIZOR Server for R6.1.
See the ADVIZOR Implementation Guide (referenced above) if you are using adv2advm.
Only install ADVIZOR Server to the default location on the "C" drive. Installing to another location will cause publishing to the server to not work.
Existing Navigation Panes must be migrated from HTML format to RTF. If you originally created the Navigation Panes in Microsoft Word (or another text editor that will also write RTF files), you can re-write the files and then go to the Page Properties dialog in ADVIZOR Analyst and load the new file. If you do not have the source files, you can create them like this:
Go to each Navigation Pane in ADVIZOR Analyst.
Right click in the Navigation Pane and select "Select All" from the popup menu. Right click again and select "Copy" from the popup menu. This copies the current pane contents to the system clipboard.
Open a text editor such as Microsoft Word and paste from the clipboard.
Save the pane contents to a file of type "RTF".
Go to the Page Properties in ADVIZOR Analyst for each page with Navigation Panes and load the new files.
If you are using Microsoft Word, make sure that the Paragraph format has 0 points of space before and after paragraphs; other specifications are not followed when the text is displayed in ADVIZOR Analyst.
Only insert images that are in standard image formats such as PNG, GIF, or JPEG. Other formats may not appear if the Navigation Pane is published to ADVIZOR Server.
