A Removal Filter is a control that can be used to remove data rows from consideration for analysis. It lists all the categories present in a field; the checked categories are included in the analysis, and unchecked categories are removed. This may be used to focus your analysis on an interesting subset of the data. Filtered data rows are treated as if they are in the "Removed" , but they can only be restored by checking the category on the removal filter again. They will not be restored by the "Restore Excluded" operation. If a row is filtered out by multiple filters, all corresponding filter dimension categories must be checked for the row to be included.
Removal Filter: removes data with categories.
A Filter lists all the categories in a categorical (string, integer, or date type) field; double precision floating-point fields are not supported. (Note that categories are listed in alphabetical order, so integer and date fields are generally not recommended.)
Checked items are available to other charts, unchecked are removed; see for a discussion of these states. Unlike data excluded via selection, these categories are not restored by a "Restore Excluded" operation--they can only be restored via the T Filter.
All items can be checked or unchecked via the "Restore" and "Remove All" boxes at the top of the filter.
Change the filter state of categories by clicking them or sweeping across them; sweeping toggles the state of the identified categories. (Note that this differs from the mouse operation in other ADVIZOR charts!)
If you have a large number of categories, sweeping to select or un-select a number of items at once is faster.
Data: a categorical field.
You may only filter using categorical fields (not Double).
Text: labels and titles.
Text for the chart title may be changed, along with the title font. Display of the title is optional.
Font style, size, and color for the category labels can be specified in the Advanced Properties pane.
