ADVIZOR Server Client in HTML in All Browsers
The ADVIZOR Server web client is now implemented in HTML/Javascript in all browsers. It provides all capabilities available in previous versions.
As part of this update, the icons used in the browser client have been updated with a new look. These new icons are not yet used in our desktop products. If you have your own training materials that include tool icons, we have provided a document containing the new icons that you can use to update your own materials.
Please review any Navigation Panes that you have created for icon images that are no longer current. Some Navigation Panes have included overviews of the major icons as hints for users. This information is now available on the first page of the Help, so we suggest that it be removed from Navigation Panes. The client Help now also references an improved "Getting Started" guide for users.
Other New Features
Expression Builder Help: The left pane in the Expression Builder dialog now has a second tab that shows help. This may be consulted while creating and testing expressions.
Data Sheet and Summary Sheet Search: The Data Sheet and Summary Sheet search dialog now provides a "Select All" button that may be used to re-select all rows. Use this to return to the initial state if your search did not find what you expected.
Selection Toolbar Button Order: The order of selection toolbar buttons has been changed to match in all clients. Previously, different orders were used in the desktop and web clients.
Adv2Advm returns error code: Adv2Advm now returns an error code indicating whether it completed without errors. This may be checked in a script used to run this command.
Reverse label sort: An order option to sort in reverse label order is now available in the Line, Bar, and Pie chart.
Defects
29 defects have been repaired.
On Windows 10 with a scaled display, the ADVIZOR Analyst window may be corrupted when the window is resized. This can be remedied using "Compatibility Mode". The the "Troubleshooting" section of the Implementation Guide (referenced above) for a procedure to use to fix this problem.
Projects must be re-published to ADVIZOR Server to see horizontal zoom bars on Data Sheets or Summary Sheets.
Models built with versions of ADVIZOR AnalystX before R6.4 are not supported. Please note the configuration of your model and re-create it.
All projects must be be re-published to ADVIZOR Server for versions predating R6.1.
See the ADVIZOR Implementation Guide (referenced above) if you are using adv2advm.
Only install ADVIZOR Server to the default location on the "C" drive. Installing to another location will cause publishing to the server to not work.
Existing Navigation Panes must be migrated from HTML format to RTF. If you originally created the Navigation Panes in Microsoft Word (or another text editor that will also write RTF files), you can re-write the files and then go to the Page Properties dialog in ADVIZOR Analyst and load the new file. If you do not have the source files, you can create them like this:
Go to each Navigation Pane in ADVIZOR Analyst.
Right click in the Navigation Pane and select "Select All" from the popup menu. Right click again and select "Copy" from the popup menu. This copies the current pane contents to the system clipboard.
Open a text editor such as Microsoft Word and paste from the clipboard.
Save the pane contents to a file of type "RTF".
Go to the Page Properties in ADVIZOR Analyst for each page with Navigation Panes and load the new files.
If you are using Microsoft Word, make sure that the Paragraph format has 0 points of space before and after paragraphs; other specifications are not followed when the text is displayed in ADVIZOR Analyst.
Only insert images that are in standard image formats such as PNG, GIF, or JPEG. Other formats may not appear if the Navigation Pane is published to ADVIZOR Server.
Existing projects with [Heat Map charts]( should be reviewed. In prior versions, in some cases, Heat Maps could become misconfigured. For each Heat Map in existing projects:
Use the [Property Explorer]( to inspect the Heat Map's Middle Value property.
If the Middle Value property contains a value that you did not explicitly configure, clear the property value.
