New Chart Type: Analysis Filter A new type of filter chart is being introduced, the "Analysis Filter", which is designed to behave like filter controls typically seen on shopping websites: when no categories are checked, all data (that hasn't been removed by a Removal Filter) is visible, and when a single category is clicked, only that category is visible. This is exactly equivalent to a select category/exclude unselected sequence, and can be overridden by a Restore Excluded operation. The list of categories shown in an Analysis Filter dimension is adjusted dynamically: categories that are not available due to Removal Filter settings are removed, and categories that are hidden by exclusions and by other Analysis Filter settings are shown in gray. Note that checking or un-checking a category in an Analysis Filter overrides any exclusions and selections done in the graphical charts.
The combination of Analysis Filter settings on multiple dimensions can provide a quick-glance overall record of the data being analyzed.
Removal Instead of Text Filter The former "Text Filter" charts are now referred to as "Removal Filters" because they remove categories of data from consideration in any other charts.
Maps for European Cities Additional background images for Maps of the largest European and British cities have been added to the built-in list.
Defects Corrected Several software defects have been repaired, including:
Map image aspect ratio is now preserved even when saved while drilled-in.
Data Sheets and Summary Sheets can now be saved with horizontal zoom in effect.
Large projects load faster in ADVIZOR Server AE and Desktop Navigator.
Projects saved from release 7.3.1 re-open correctly in 7.4.
Projects with only Filter edits prompt for save.
