Update Expired Credentials

For data sources that require explicit database credentials, expiration of those credentials can make a project unusable.
When you open an ADV project file, the ADVIZOR Analyst application tries to open the project's data sources, and for most database data sources, it uses credentials that are stored in the project file. If those credentials have expired or no longer have permissions to open the specified tables, the data source load will fail, and the definition will be removed from the project.
Thus, in order to update database credentials stored in a project, it's important to have an ADVM version of the project available, with data source definitions included. It's good practice to manually save an ADVM file from ADVIZOR Analyst in the Master directory every time you update the master ADV file. (If you don't have an ADVM with data sources that corresponds to your ADV, you can contact ADVIZOR Support - support@advizorsolutions.com - for assistance.)
Enter the new database password and/or login name or server name/DSN.
Click “Connect” to verify that the credentials are valid; the indicator should change to green.
Change to the Metadata tab, and then click “Test” to verify connectivity; a message should indicate "Test Successful".
Dismiss the message and you should see the field names un-gray.
Click “Save” to save the new database credentials (and “Yes” if asked to update the data source Template).
Close the Manage Data Sources dialog.
Save the project as an ADV (from the File ribbon).
You should now be able to open the newly updated ADV project successfully.
