# Save a Project

[Find more information on saving and ADVIZOR file types in our tutorial page](https://www.advizorsolutions.com/Help/Central/7.2/).

ADVIZOR provides two ways to save your project:

1. The **Save Project As** function allows you to choose from one of two format types:
 * The **.adv format** contains a pointer to a data source. If you send this project to others, they must have rights set to access the data.
 * The **.advm format** contains embedded data that is compressed and encrypted. Because user rights are not an issue with this format, so you can send this project to anyone as a standalone file.
2. The **Save** function saves your project in .adv format.
