# Inserting a Text Box

A [Text Box](https://help.advizorsolutions.com/v7.2+/charts-and-visual-discovery/charts-overview/text-box) displays rich text within the chart area.

**Inserting a New Text Box**

1. 2. If the Data Configuration form is not already showing, click the configuration button ![](https://1916279106-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-Lf5YcsNySU3Og8Ms9rA%2F-Lf5ZCyAZIyYzxDLDEKS%2F-Lf5ZyNEX50eI7MoXvly%2FInitConfig.png?generation=1558109763542834\&alt=media) to open the Data Configuration window.  To write the content of the text box, click on **Edit Text** to open the **Formatted Text Editor** window. Within the editor, enter text, paste text in from another document, or open an existing .rtf file. 
3. Click **OK**. The entered text will be displayed in the chart.
