# Inserting a Counts

The [Counts](https://help.advizorsolutions.com/v7.2+/charts-and-visual-discovery/charts-overview/counts) chart displays statistics (meta data) for fields that you designate. Use this chart to see sums, averages, minimums, maximums, or deviations for any metric.

**Features**

* Rearranging columns
* Count of total rows, Selected rows, Unselected rows, and Excluded rows
* Count of total unique values and unique selected values
* Most common string value (Mode)
* Mean of all rows and of selected rows
* Standard deviation of all rows and of selected rows
* Minimum/maximum/sum across all rows and across selected rows

**Inserting New Counts**

1. 2. If the Data Configuration form is not already showing, click the configuration button ![](https://1916279106-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-legacy-files/o/assets%2F-Lf5YcsNySU3Og8Ms9rA%2F-Lf5ZCyAZIyYzxDLDEKS%2F-Lf5ZyNEX50eI7MoXvly%2FInitConfig.png?generation=1558109763542834\&alt=media) to open the Data Configuration window. If the Data Table shown is not the one you want, use the drop-down list to select the right one.
3. Select all the fields to be included by clicking on the checkboxes next to the field names.
4. Click **OK**. The Counts chart displays.
